Overview

ToneFix is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your text never leaves your device.

Information We Collect

We collect no information.

ToneFix does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no connection to external servers.

How the App Works

All processing in ToneFix — including AI-powered text rewriting — happens entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device language model framework). Your text is never sent to any server, including ours.

Data Stored on Your Device

ToneFix stores the following data locally on your device only, in a private app container:

• Rewrite history — original text you submitted and the rewritten versions produced, along with timestamps. History saving can be disabled or cleared at any time in Settings.
• User preferences — your chosen default tone, channel context, appearance mode, and other app settings.
• Custom tones — any custom tone instructions you create.
• Tone presets — any presets you have configured.

This data never leaves your device and is not backed up to iCloud or any cloud service.

Keyboard Extension

ToneFix includes an optional keyboard extension. When you use it:

• The extension reads text from the active text field to process your rewrite request.
• Processing happens on-device only.
• No text or keystrokes are logged, stored, or transmitted.
• The extension requires Full Keyboard Access, which is granted by you in iOS Settings. This permission is used solely to read and inject text for the rewrite feature.

Share Extension

ToneFix includes a Share extension that lets you send text from other apps into ToneFix. Shared text is temporarily stored in a private, on-device app group container and is automatically cleared within 5 minutes (or immediately when imported into the main app).

Third-Party Services

ToneFix uses no third-party services of any kind. There are no analytics or tracking SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or external AI APIs.

Children's Privacy

ToneFix does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note the changes in the App Store release notes.
